A Parent and Baby/Toddler Art Club for 0-4 Years

Wednesday Mornings 9.30-10.30 am (Term Time Only)
Our Mission for the Club:
An art club for preschoolers and babies. The aim is to make creativity a natural, normal part of their lives right from the very beginning. Our story time at the start encourages an imagination to start developing at this critical age, and when you have an imagination, anything is possible!
Imaginations are responsible for invention, innovation, problem solving, and success through vision and manifestation. It helps their brains to process situations from both a creative and logical perspective and to risk assess what is actual danger and what is not. It makes them more well-rounded individuals.
This club is not just for the youngsters; we also want to encourage some human contact for the parents who may feel isolated. Being a parent to a young child is hard—we get it, we’ve been there. This is our way of allowing you the time to connect, both with your child and other parents, in a relaxed, fun, and beautiful setting.
Structure of the Club:
Storytime
Each term will follow a theme and at the start of each session a short visual story will be read to the children to set the tone. There will be a different story every two weeks. The second week of the story will focus on what the children remember, perhaps asking some simple questions and seeing how they would end the story differently. For the younger children, this is all about reinforcing the story, the pictures, the colours so they can process them in a deeper way.
Themed art project
We will have a themed art project related to the story book read to the children out on our Mini Monet table. The children will spend two weeks on this project. The first week will be the formative stages and we will keep their project at the studio. They will then layer up the project on the second week and take it home. This allows them to see how art is layered, can be slower and not an instant finished project and allows them to see it slightly differently in the second week to the first, expanding their world just a little further. This also shows them what progression looks like and will prepare them well for school.
Messy Art and Sensory Tent
During the session, we realise that young children’s attention spans can be short, so we will also have low level easels up with plain paper and a messy paint corner where they can paint on paper on the wall and each add to a wall mural each week.
We will also have a camp built with fairy lights inside, and a few things for the children to play with. This is where we can have some cushions for babies, big duplo bricks for building sculptures or art installations from and other baby friendly colourful toys.
Coffee House
Our coffee house is situated in the same space and therefore espresso coffee, speciality teas and cold soft drinks are available as well as cakes, pastries and snacks throughout the session at an extra charge.

Booking is essential as we have a limited number of spaces. We offer a free trial for the first week. There is no obligation to stay for the whole year, if you wish to stop you can cancel the direct debit at any point and we just ask that a courtesy notice period of one month is given.
