Hello, I’m Katharine, the founder of Katharine Jennings Fine Art Studio, Rotherfield. If you have just found us and don’t know much about us, let me introduce us properly. I set up the art studio in Rotherfield, in the old post office, nearly a decade ago. We started small ,with around 15 classical art students and 3 Little Leonardos Art Clubbers. It was me, on my own, trying to conquer the world with art. Then it grew and grew and slowly my team grew too. We now have a team of 8, plus me, all working to spread the creativity bug to young and not so young. It’s been a journey of hard graft, long, long hours, no days off to speak of and a few scares along the way, but just as you do when creating a painting, you have to struggle through the challenges, the ‘ugly stage’ or as some like to call it ‘the messy middle’, and come out the otherside. Building something meaningful is always going to be an uphill climb, but we’re not afraid of hard work. We know we are on to something good and it is because of art and all the life skills it has taught us, that all of us in our team consider our studio our happy place. We are deadly serious about art and creativity. We believe the practices of the renaissance Italy were the best, most valuable years for our world. Innovation, beauty, perseverance, passion. We intend to bring all that back into fashion. And there’s no where better to start than right here, this summer.
